Bali Kite Festival

It is a festival that lasts for three days participated by locals coming from different villages to show off their gigantic kites that can be about four meters in width. Traditionally, kites take the form of fish and birds because it was believed that they carry messages to the Gods. 

However, in the modern society, kites in the Bali Kite Festival can come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Spectators can have a great time while watching competitors’ rivalries become fierce as they chant or catcall each other. The Annual Bali Kite Festival is held in July at or near Sanur Beach.
